An interactive film installation empowering audiences to use their phone to interact and reveal the inner thoughts of the characters.

Falling in love can leave you lost for words, even when there's millions racing through your head. This quirky set of interactive films give the audience the power to dive into the thoughts of the two characters as they experience a series of serendipitous (and awks) encounters.

To create these flicks we teamed up with the equally-ambitious folk at Google's Creative Lab and introduced tech in some (screw humility) super cool ways: using the phone's accelerometer and the browser's native decide motion library to respond to audience interaction and movement, users were able to 'shine a light' on the inner monologue of the film's protagonists.

Sounds tricky, right? It is, and it's what we love more than anything in the world: pushing the boundaries of traditional storytelling and exploring the ways in which tech can empower artists and audiences.

Enjoy this one. We certainly did.

Grumpy Sailor operates on lands belonging to the Gadigal people of the Eora nation, and the Boon Wurrung and Woiwurrung (Wurundjeri) peoples of the Kulin nation.

We acknowledge these traditional owners and we pay our respects to leaders past, present and emerging.
