Some sites are woven into the fabric of a nation's soul. Like no other place in Australia, Uluru is part of us. Embedded in our history, Our spirit.

This is the story of how we helped launch Google Street View by giving users a once-in-a-lifetime experience of Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park from their living room or office chair or bus seat.

Using our own platform - Story Spheres - we worked with the Anangu traditional owners to guide users on a 360 degree tour of the iconic landmark.

(We also helped the fine folk over in Google-land tell the video story about the tech and people behind the complex collection of the Street view imagery.)

The launch generated over 150 bits and pieces of national coverage, from tv to print, website, radio and alleyway graffiti (kidding). We also nabbed heaps more international coverage in the US, UK, Germany and Argentina - we're planning to holiday to each to read the originals next summer.

This is one of those projects that sums up all we're about: cool tech creating experiences and telling stories you'll never forget.

Next Project

Grumpy Sailor operates on lands belonging to the Gadigal people of the Eora nation, and the Boon Wurrung and Woiwurrung (Wurundjeri) peoples of the Kulin nation.

We acknowledge these traditional owners and we pay our respects to leaders past, present and emerging.
